The word Kashmir has connotation with the moving population that crossed the region over the centuries for business and in search of abode:
some among the caravan population made the region their home. They were people from Central Asia, Turkey, Iran, and Afghanistan and were called Kashmiri's.
Later Buddhism was propagated to through this route in the times of Asoka. The different dynasties which governed the region included
Kushana, the Karkota, Utpala, Tantrin, Yaskara Gupta and so forth. The architectural designs of the past exist today and are a tourist attraction.
The population of the land now resides in the lap of nature from Pahalgam till Srinagar with small hamlets like Gulmarg, Sonmarg. Srinagar is the capital city.
